It is the duty of every Sikh to uphold the dignity of the Khalsa Panth. It is a sincere request at the feet of the entire Khalsa Panth that what has happened in the Khalsa Panth for the past few years has deeply damaged the status of the positions of the Jathedars of the Takhts and the hearts of the entire Guru Nanak Naam Leva Sangat have been broken. Removing the Jathedars by insulting them is very unfortunate and intolerable. The 31-member committee of Akhand Kirtani Jatha (Worldwide) and Akhand Kirtani Jatha (Regd.) said in a statement issued to the media that the main reason for all this is the wrong method of appointing the Jathedars. A political party which is in control of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee appoints the Jathedars at its own will. Being a salaried employee of the Jathedar Committee, he does not dare to speak against the Committee or the political bosses of that Committee. As soon as he speaks against the Committee or the boss of that Committee, he is immediately dismissed from his post with disgrace. By doing so, the office bearers of the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee have inflicted a deep blow on the glorious traditions and principles of the Khalsa Panth. Akhand Kirtani Jatha, taking serious note of this entire narrative, appeals to the entire Khalsa Panth to mobilize against it and condemns this narrative in strong words.
The appointment of the Jathedars of the Takhts should be done in a Sarbat Khalsa gathering called by the Sikh community of the world. The Jathedars elected in this way will be free from the subordination of any committee and will not be salaried employees, due to which they will be able to speak their mind openly like Akali Phula Singh and lead the Khalsa Panth properly.
