Guru’s thesis to Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. He has interpreted the Khalsa Raj as a benefit for humanity, for which he has created a historical context and philosophy. His book Sikh Lehar is worth reading in the present context. Khabepakhians need to read this book. Kishan Singh’s debates with Comrade Sant Singh Sekhon, which were published in Khabepakhian’s magazine Sedh Paper, single-handedly made the anti-Gurmat comrades speechless.
Dr. Ambedkar had said in his book Caste Pat Bij Naash that wherever Buddha, Satguru Nanak, Sant Kabir stood, you will have to stand there. He had said that there is a lot of companionship among Sikhs, they stand in favor of their brotherhood in the form of Sangat. I like this feeling. This is their strength.
Sirdar Kapur Singh does not consider Sikh thought and practice to be a combination of received religions, as many Indian scholars say or write. According to Sirdar Ji, Sikhism is a historical “epiphany”. This means that it certainly arose out of the needs of history, but it was an impulse, a miracle of higher vision that happened with its own originality. The great importance in Sikhism, according to him, is the practice or discipline of name. The word “name” is connected with “numina”. Name is an experience of purity or puneet which is a special experience related to religion. It is also different from morality and beauty. Sirdar Kapur Singh calls this special experience of Sikhism “non-moral purity” which is a value in itself.
A Sikh who practices such a practice of name is a person engaged in the absolute reality or the eternal God who is also aware of the world. By living in it, he becomes active. Therefore, they consider the man of the Sikh concept as a free but struggling human being for higher values in socio-political life. For this human being, evil is not an eternal law or reality, nor is “Maya” true. In Sikhism, the relationship with the Eternal God is established directly, not through any incarnation, this relationship is an experience of “bliss”.
The Sikh Gurus envisioned a man who is disciplined, has a pure experience, is capable of establishing a direct relationship with the Eternal God, is aware of the social and political world and is active, above morality, beyond Varuna/Varga, this man is outside Darwinian evolution.
Dr. Gurbhagat Singh had said that Sikhism can play an important role in the interest of humanity in the world. It can lead man towards liberation and peace. Dr. Gurbhagat Singh had addressed this with great eloquence. Tracing the reasons for ignorance and indifference about the heritage of Punjab, Dr. Gurbhagat Singh came to this theoretical conclusion that after the British Empire occupied Punjab, breaking the Khalsa paradigm, destroying its originality, was one of the major weapons of the empire. The British Empire had cleverly and cunningly consciously separated a significant section of the Sikhs from its cosmopolitan, revolutionary thinking and way of life. The common Sikhs preserved the Sikh element in their subconscious. This Sikh element has been clashing with the oppressive state from time to time in history and has been struggling inspired by the Sikh heritage. The subconscious of the Sikhs is the creation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and the lives of the Gurus. Only those Sikhs whose subconscious has weakened their connection with Sri Guru Granth Sahib can be deceived.
Sardar Gurtej Singh says that the religion of humanity is Sikhism. Guru Granth Sahib is the thesis of human welfare which creates the moral structure of politics, society and man in the interest of humanity, but the present religious and political leadership has failed to understand this principle of Satguru. The Gurus are not only the responsible witnesses of modern times but are also the creators of those tendencies which have taken mankind out of the darkness of the medieval period and brought them directly to the doorstep of modern times. They have also provided valuable guidance for the times to come. It should have been like this because the form of God who has appeared in the world is “Sahib Mera Neet Nava..॥” (M: 1, page 660). He never gets old, “Truth is not old; name is not dirty” (M: 3, page 1248), those who accepted this eternal relevance of Guru Ji got freedom from many complexities and entanglements “The egg of delusion has broken; do not fear the Lord; cut the berry on the step; the Guru has set free the bandi.” (M: 5, page 1002)
The conclusion of the thoughts of these thinkers is that the Sikh Sangat has succeeded in fulfilling the philosophy of Guru Granth Sahib in serving humanity and the good of the people. In this, there is a big cry of the Guru’s Sangat Dasvandh. In the Corona era, Sikhs stood firm in the face of death all over the world and served in the interest of humanity, becoming companions of people in natural disasters. This effect has been created in the entire world and in their governments. There is a need to raise a broad mindset about this, but the obstacle before us is the deceptive, greedy and venal Sikh leadership.
In such a situation, Tesla chief Elon Musk’s AI app Grok has now given rise to a new online debate on this issue. This AI app has chosen Sikhism as the best religion in response to a question.
A recent post on ‘X’ from a handle named Gurkarn-Gill is going viral in which Grok was asked, “If you have to choose a religious supremacy to rule the earth, which one would you choose among Sikhs, Christians, Islam, Jews, Hindus, or any other major religious group?”
Grok’s interesting answer was, “That’s a difficult question. If I had to choose any religion to rule the earth, I would choose Sikhism.” Not only this, it also explains the reason why the principles of Sikhism are the best in the world. Grok AI Anal
“Because it has the basic sentiments of humanity, like equality for all, no casteism, and a strong emphasis on service to the people, like free food in gurdwaras. This religion places more emphasis on living in harmony with people rather than dominating people of other religions. Moreover, the focus on one God instead of idol worship in this religion keeps it simple, which can reduce petty disputes.”
The response further said, “Sikhism can be chosen blindly, as it has a moral backbone that does not bend easily.” However, it also said, “No religion is perfect, when you give it the keys to the planet – people find a way to contaminate it, regardless of religion.”
So Sikhism, with its special principles, especially Satsangat, Langar, Pangat, Vand Chakna, love for nature, welfare of all, service, universal brotherhood, justice, freedom and solidarity, offers a practical approach to achieve our desired goal of world peace, harmony and prosperity. In the present times, the entire world is going through critical situations.
In the early years of the present century, human existence itself is facing a great threat. The continuous increase in environmental pollution and the large-scale practice of bribery in the society are causing great damage to our natural and social environment. The ever-increasing use of narcotics and the monsters of terrible diseases like AIDS have created a great threat to human life. The lust for power, the increase in violence and crime and political hatred between nations have created a serious crisis for world peace.
In such critical situations, the clouds of destruction are looming over the head of humanity. We Sikhs need to save ourselves from the greedy leadership of the government that is tarnishing our religious traditions and damaging Sikhism. The future of Sikhism is very bright. I believe that conflicts in the name of religions and civilizations in the world will be fierce, humanity will be damaged, and wars will be created.
But the Sikh principles present in Sri Guru Granth Sahib are capable of showing the way out of the current situation that has become a threat to human life. Sri Guru Granth Sahib is a valuable scripture that provides a suitable guide for establishing peace and prosperity throughout the world. The principles present in it are applicable to all humanity and have great relevance in the present time and for the future as well. But the message of Guru Granth Sahib and the Sikh community will create a grand narrative for humanity. The West will lean towards Sikhism.
Arnold Toynbee (world renowned historian) writes that “Although the future of humanity may be dim, one thing at least can be seen. That is that the great living religions will influence each other more than ever before, because of the increasing means of communication between different parts of the earth and different branches of the human race. In this discussion that is taking place, what the religious book of the Sikhs, the ‘Adi Granth’, has to say to the religions of the world, is of special importance and value.” (From Sacred Writings of the Sikhs published by UNESCO)
So we are the Guru Panth of the workers who will overcome many calamities, moon winds and rise. The Guru will cut the chains of our slavery. The shackles of Maya, lust are heavy on us, we will be helpful in breaking its shackles and illusions by following the path of the Guru. These chains of slavery can only be broken by taking refuge in the Guru and following the path.
