After the murder of Rajendra Prasad Gupta, a resident of Bhadaini in Varanasi, his wife Neetu and three children Namnendra, Subendra and Gaurangi, the postmortem process was completed in 46 hours due to government negligence. After this, three ambulance drivers charged 19 thousand rupees from Rajendra’s relatives after a long haggling to transport the body from the postmortem house in Shivpur to Harishchandra Ghat. On Thursday evening, Rajendra’s younger nephew Prashant alias Jugnu cremated all the five members in police custody. The bodies of Neetu, Namnendra, Subendra and Gaurangi were found in the house at Bhadaini on Tuesday. Rajendra’s body was found in a house under construction at Mirapur Rampur. All five were shot 15 times in the head, chest and temple. The police took the bodies of Neetu and the three children to the post-mortem house at 4 pm and Rajendra’s body to the post-mortem house at Shivpur at 7 pm. Neetu and Subendra’s X-ray was done again
On Wednesday, all five bodies were sent for X-ray to the Divisional Hospital. The X-ray was done quite late due to the machine being out of order. After this, the post-mortem process began after 8 pm. Since it was not clear where Neetu and Subendra were shot, the bodies of both were X-rayed again. After this, the post-mortem process was completed at 2 pm on Thursday.
