AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi has raised questions on the presence of non-Muslim members in the Waqf Board. During this, he said that not a single member of the 24 members of the TTD Board (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam) is a non-Hindu, the new chairman of TTD says that the people working there should be Hindus, we are not against it. We only object to the fact that Narendra Modi’s government is saying in the proposed bill of Waqf that it has been made mandatory to have 2 non-Muslim members in the Central Waqf Council. Why are you bringing this provision in the Waqf Bill? TTD is a board of Hindu religion and Waqf Board is of Muslim religion. There should be equality, when the trustees of TTD cannot be Muslims, then how can there be a non-Muslim member in the Waqf Board?
‘We are fighting elections in Maharashtra on our own strength’
On the other hand, Asaduddin Owaisi said on Maharashtra assembly elections, we are fighting elections on our own strength, AIMIM believes that when Muslims get rights equal to their population, Indian politics will be strengthened. Today there are only 4% Muslim MPs in the Indian Parliament. He further said that, our full effort is that the government of Shinde, Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar should not be formed again.
